Our Community Car Scheme provides a door to door service, provided to help those who have no access to their own or public transport due to their age, mobility or rural locality.
Priority is given to hospital and other health appointments but we will do our best to assist with other essential or social trips subject to volunteer capacity.
The scheme is coordinated by our friendly and helpful staff team who will do their best to get you to where you need to go. All drivers are volunteers who use their own cars to support local people with their transport needs. We cover Stokesley and the surrounding villages – please click to view the area we service.
All our drivers are subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
Car scheme journeys are charged at 45p per mile from the volunteer’s home and back, with payment made directly to the driver at the end of the journey to cover their expenses. We try to ensure the best price for your journey by allocating a driver who is as close your home as possible. There is an annual membership fee of £25.00 which helps contribute to coordination costs.
Passengers can have a carer or companion accompany them – please let the coordinator know when booking transport if this is the case. We are able to accommodate wheelchair users who can independently transfer from their wheelchair into a standard-sized vehicle. Again, please advise us when booking if a wheelchair is to be used as not all volunteer vehicles can accommodate one.

All transport is provided subject to volunteer availability. Please give as much notice as possible to allow us time to find you a driver. In an emergency we will do our best to help.
Please note, we are not a taxi service and reserve the right to refuse journeys which do not meet the aims of the scheme.
